Back to School: A Journey Through Time “School Days of Old” at the Pulaski Museum!

Pulaski High School (Old Glenbrook) on front Street.

Pulaski, WI – The Pulaski Area Historical Society invites the community to a special event on Saturday, September 28, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Pulaski Museum, located at 129 W. Pulaski Street. This engaging event, titled “School Days of Old - Teachers, Students, and Administration of the Past,” promises to be a delightful journey into the history of education in our area.

Join us as we host a panel of guests featuring retired teachers, school administrators, and former students who will share their experiences and stories about what school life was like in the past. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions such as:

  • What did students wear?

  • What kinds of sports were played?

  • What subjects were taught?

  • What was lunch like?

  • What was the role of parents in education back then?

  • What were your favorite school memories?

  • How were kids disciplined?

  • What were some school traditions?

  • What were the most popular extracurricular activities?

This event is designed for all ages, inviting both young and old to engage with our rich educational history. In addition to the panel discussion, kids and adults can learn how to create their own book covers using brown paper bags, making it a fun and creative experience for families.

The Pulaski Area Historical Society will provide coffee, water, and cookies to enhance the communal atmosphere. This event is free and open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for families to learn and connect with history together. Donations are gladly accepted.

No registration is required, and doors will open at 9:15 AM. We encourage everyone to bring their kids, grandkids, parents, and grandparents for a morning filled with conversation, coffee, and cookies.
